at The Village Hall, starting at 7:30 pm.
Come and join us this coming Weds to hear a talk by Jo Milton from CAG Oxfordshire.
“Recording Our Wildlife“
Jo will introduce us to the joy, power and wider benefits of recording the wildlife around us. She will show us some of the apps we can use for nature recording in Harwell and share some citizen science projects anyone can get involved with.
Then, around 8:30…
“Village Bat Walk”
with Dr Julian Parfitt
Julian is the Project Leader at Wild Wantage and works for the Oxfordshire Nature Project in supporting local nature recovery projects across Oxfordshire.
We will undertake a bat dusk survey in the village using a combination of different bat detectors (7 heterodyne and 1 full-spectrum) to build up a picture of the local bat population. Along the route, we will be looking at how they use local habitats: where they socialise, forage and commute between roosts and their feeding areas.
At the beginning of the meeting we will also share a quick update on some of the project work Sustainable Harwell has been involved with.
If you are a member of another village group, do please make them aware of this event, which should be of interest to everybody.
Everyone is welcome and we look forward to seeing you.
